Escape for a luxury family holiday at the Shandrani Resort & Spa

If you’re looking for an all-inclusive destination but don’t want to stint on the luxury, then this is the place. The Shandrani offers the finest, most extensive package on the island, combined with stunning scenery, great facilities and excellent service.

It’s not often that an all-inclusive package offers a complimentary spa treatment, internationally branded drinks and champagne by the glass. At the Shandrani, though, it’s all part of the experience. Spend your days soaking up the Mauritian sun in 70 acres of lush gardens, or cooling off in the turquoise waters of the Blue Bay Marine Park. And when the day is done, you’ve got four fine dining restaurants to choose from plus a fifth, offering delicious buffet meals.

The Inside Word

We Love...

The fact that all the spacious rooms and suites are spread out around the award-winning gardens, yet still near the beach.

Indulge Yourself...

Sounds too good be true, but trust us it is. Every adult staying four nights or more gets a complimentary 45-minute massage. The hotel’s superb spa is tucked away among beautiful gardens and there’s a dreamy menu of treatments to choose from, many using Clarins products. The Wellness Centre has 20 massage cabins, one pool, one hamman and one sauna at your disposal. Go on, treat yourself.

Time for Action...

If you do manage to drag yourself away from the beach, you’ve got the choice of water skiing, kayaking, sailing, snorkelling, a glass-bottom boat, a nine-hole pitch and putt golf course, bicycles for hire and a fully equipped gym. Not only that but there are weekly group tennis, windsurfing and sailing lessons, all included of course.

Learn Something New...

Try your hand at the tiller, with sailing lessons at the ISA-accredited Sailing Club. With a one-hour session per day for five days, you’ll already be a competent beginner. Or, if you’re feeling more adventurous, head down to the kite surfing school.*

(*Please note this is at a small extra charge for guests)

Experience a Taste of...

Local fish cooked and served in a bamboo parcel. Grab a table in the garden at Le Boucanier restaurant, which serves up a weekly fine dining feast of seafood specialties. If not, head to Le Grand Port, the hotel's main eaterie, and choose from the mouthwatering Creole and Oriental-influenced dishes in the buffet. Shandrani has five restaurants altogether.

For Children...

Mauritius is a 'year-round' destination with only a four-hour time difference, meaning little or no jet lag. What’s more, it’s incredibly safe. The complimentary Bob Marlin Mini Club welcomes youngsters aged three to 12 years from 0900 until 2100, seven days a week. A baby-sitting service is also available with supplement.

''In our opinion the all-inclusive Serenity Plus programme makes everything just that little bit easier for families, couples or groups of friends. Shandrani is four or so miles from the airport so the transfer is around 20 minutes. Relax, be active, or both!''
